Voices from the Mat: Interview with an LPS Yogini

NUMBER OF YEARS YOU'VE BEEN DOING YOGA: Occasionally for years since Jenny owned Two J's Yoga. Regularly now, for about 7 months.
WHICH CLASSES AT LPS DO YOU REGULARLY ATTEND? I'm pretty sure by now, I've tried them all. I usually try to attend Power Yoga and a few Slow Flows a week. I also really enjoy the Gentle Yoga class - but Full Moon Flow with Brynn is my favorite!
WHICH YOGA POSE IS YOUR FAVORITE? WHY? I think I love pigeon pose. It really stretches my hips, where I have tightness and pain.
HOW HAS YOGA IMPACTED YOUR LIFE? DESCRIBE PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND/OR SPIRITUAL IMPACTS - WHICHEVER APPLY! Within the first few weeks, I noticed a decrease in my Crohn's symptoms. I have gotten to such a point with these that I haven't seen since before my diagnosis. I am the happiest and least anxious I have felt in years. Just being present and controlling my breathing helps me deal with anxiety, stressful situations at work, and even grocery shopping.

DO YOU THINK THAT EVERYONE CAN BENEFIT FROM YOGA? WHY OR WHY NOT? Absolutely everyone! Anyone, any size, any body type, can benefit from yoga! You don't have to be skinny or flexible to benefit from the peace of mind attending a class can bring. Just controlling your breath and being present in the moment flows over from the mat and into life situations.
