Childbirth Education Workshop

Rose Mary O'Brien, MSN RN, brings expectant parents a childbirth education workshop in a nurturing environment. Partners (not limited to father of child) are invited to attend this workshop committed to supporting healthy babies and parents through education. Participants receive info packet, light lunch, three essential oil rollers (for energy, muscle soreness and relaxation) and framed completion certificate. 

In the workshop, couples will learn about: 
• Gestation and anatomy
• Nutrition and exercise
• Preparing to adapt to physical changes
• Birth plans
• Labor support
• Stages of labor
• Interventions
• Inductions and Cesarean births
• Breathing and relaxation
• Pain management
• Breastfeeding
• Newborn care

Rose Mary, mother of four children, serves as a nurse at the Uniontown Hospital Family Beginnings Birthing Center and nursing instructor at the Community College of Allegheny County. Her personal experiences and commitment to holistic health, as well as her 12 years of maternal-child nursing, has spurred her desire to act as an advocate for women of all ages.
