Join us July 27 - 30, 2018, for twice-daily yoga classes led by Laura Patterson - Santore, E-RYT-200, Brynn Cunningham, RYT-200, Tara Morris, RYT-200, and Leah Staley, RYT-100 / Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) . Our location is easily accessible but will remove you completely from the rushed pace of daily life, immersing you in the tranquility of the Laurel Highlands.  In addition to yoga, our itinerary includes a community dinner under the stars, sunrise meditation and silent hike and a Deluxe Lower Yough rafting trip down seven miles of Class III whitewater in Ohiopyle State Park. Each raft will be guided by professional river guides, featuring Laura Scoville, RYT-200, as the river trip leader. Riverside lunch provided by the outfitter.

During time in between classes, you have opportunities within walking distance for hiking, biking and exploring.  Timber Ridge is a short drive to Ohiopyle State Park, Kentuck Knob and Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater.  Our knowledgeable team is available to help you plan your perfect trip - whether adventuring on the water with a kayak, discovering Stand-up Paddlepoard (SUP) Yoga or scheduling an in-room massage offered by our massage maven Leah Staley, LMT.

  • The $300 deposit (applied toward registration) is non-refundable and non-transferable. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the beginning of the retreat.  Incremental payments are accepted prior to the 60 day deadline.
  • No refunds for canceling within 30 days of the retreat.
  • Guests will receive a confirmation email confirming your registration and payment.  The email will also include itinerary, packing list and additional travel information.
  • LPS Strength & Meditation reserves the right to amend this policy at its sole discretion.

YOGA RAFT EXCURSION

Let's do yoga and go outside! You will begin the day at LPS with a yoga class designed to warm up the body and unwind for the day's activity. Wilderness Voyageurs will provide shuttle from LPS to Ohiopyle to go rafting on the region's premier Class III section of river. You will enjoy a Fully Guided Deluxe trip on the Lower Youghiogheny, which includes a guide in each raft, a smaller group (max of 20), a tasty lunch, and approximately 2 hours on the water. This excursion is designed to take the hustle and bustle out of your day to truly enjoy what the Laurel Highlands region has to offer. If time permits, we may be able to check out a few more local attractions during the day. Yoga Trail Running Excursion

Renew your running practice, refresh and relax your body and spirit, change your routine and make new running friends (the best kind!). Enjoy a fun-filled, no stress day of yoga and trail running at an easy-going, non-competitive pace on beautiful single track, dirt trails in Maryland’s Savage River Forest. Runners will meet at LPS Strength & Meditation for a 50-minute slow vinyasa flow full of pranayama and running-themed intention to begin the day. The group will be transported to the trailhead at the exquisite, rustic, secluded Savage River Lodge (SRL). Runners will be placed in various pace groups with one leader and one sweep runner per group. The run will begin with a short talk-up of trail running basics and quick pre-run warm-up. After the run, participants are invited to change clothes and wash up in the bathrooms of the Savage River Lodge. All runners will then reconvene for a 30-minute slow flow and yin-style post-run yoga cool down. Then it’s time to eat! The SRL will provide a catered, healthy lunch excellent for recovery of the joints and muscles. We will return to LPS after lunch.

10:15 a.m. Yoga running warm-ups

10:30 a.m. Runs begin (hoping to have two groups, one doing around three miles and one doing around six)

11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Post-run yoga

12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch catered by Savage River Lodge

2 p.m. Depart SRL

3 p.m. Closing meditation

3:15 p.m. Massages, bodywork or sauna appointments begin for anyone who has booked one (not included with registration)

  • Foam Roller or Massage Ball (we have extras if you don't have one!)

  • Hat/ jacket in the event of rain
  • Change of clothes/shoes for after running
  • Yoga mat (we have mats if you don’t have your own)
  • Toiletries (brush, deodorant, face wash, etc., if you’d like to freshen up after the run)
  • Bug spray
     

Requirements: Suitable for novice to advanced yoga practitioners. Participants must be able to run six consistent miles and average 10 or more miles of running per week. No trail running experience required.

YOGA BIKE EXCURSION

Explore downtown Uniontown's premier wellness center and the Laurel Highlands mountainous beauty all in one stress free day! You'll begin the day with a yoga class in studio to warm up and unwind for the day.  Wilderness Voyageurs will then provide transportation from LPS to Ohiopyle, PA where we will begin the 18 mile scenic ride on the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail to Connellsville, PA. Shuttle will be provided back to LPS from the trail head in Connellsville. At a leisurely pace, the ride takes approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours. This excursion is designed for you to surrender the stress of planning and driving so you can soak in a refreshing day in the Laurel Highlands! YOGA SUP EXCURSION

Have you ever wanted to learn how to paddle a stand up paddle board? This is your chance! You will begin the day at LPS with a yoga class designed to warm up and unwind for the day's adventure. Wilderness Voyageurs will provide shuttle from LPS to the Youghiogheny Lake to begin your SUP lesson with a certified instructor. You will have a few hours on the water to learn and laugh! This one day getaway is designed for you to give up your planner and allow us to show you a piece of what the Laurel Highlands mountain region has to offer. YOGA HIKE EXCURSION

What better way to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Laurel Highlands than a hike?! You will begin the day at LPS with a yoga class designed to warm up and unwind for the day of hiking. Wilderness Voyageurs will provide shuttle to a trail head (TBA) to begin a leisurely paced hike into Ohiopyle, PA where we will visit the Falls City Pub for a snack or drink. Ohiopyle provides a rich landscape of waterfalls and views that will take your breath away. You will have time to explore the region's premier adventure town nestled in the Laurel Highlands located along the banks of the Youghiogheny River.
